Recognize the doorway seen here? No? How ‘bout now?
Believed to be a former exterior door of the original 150 sq ft building, it’s now an interior door off our conference room. But while it’s function has changed, we’ve taken great care to preserve and incorporate period and personal details.
For instance, the door featured here is a period piece. However, it’s not native to the building. Carpenter Scott Taylor, who’s given great attention to historical details and preservation on this project, located several historic doors like this one for the property.
Fitting the doors into their new homes at 902 N Mangum did require the build-out of door frames to accommodate them… as seen here. In this case, the build-out also includes a transom window.
For a unique personal touch, the transom glass will be etched with the pattern found on the vintage metal screen that filled the space when we began renovations.
