One of our most exciting – and earliest – discoveries during construction was the original 1950’s stucco exterior that was masked by aluminum siding.
In this picture you can see its intricate details running vertically and horizontally. You can also see it’s withstood a bit of damage over the years. Between old age, construction, and neglect it’s looking worse for the ware… especially above the overhead doors.
While this damage does offer a glimpse into the brick detail that predated the stucco, it’s a look we’ve decided to repair rather than preserve.
The stucco as is poses a safety concern because crumbles are continually taking nose dives into the pavement below. Heaven forbid Chicken Little should be around… We’d never here the end of it!
