Bull City Cool makes headlines again! This time the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA) has featured an interview with Peter Skillern, executive director of Reinvestment Partners and “father figure” of the food hub.
Who is CFSA? In their own words…
…a farmer-driven, membership-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that helps people in the Carolinas grow and eat local, organic foods by advocating for fair farm and food policies, building the systems family farms need to thrive, and educating communities about local, organic agriculture.
Now, why are we on CFSA’s radar? Back in late 2014 we got valuable guidance from CFSA on our business plan – a reward for winning their competition. Since then we’ve also become a member. It’s all about connections, people!
And speaking of connections, find out from Skillern what it means to be the link between pitch forks and salad forks here: “Bull City Cool Food Hub: A Local Food Hub That’s Connecting Farmers, Food Businesses, and Non-Profits in Durham, NC”
