Previously decorated by sporadically working 8-foot long fluorescent bulbs, I see food-storage appropriate pendant lighting in its future. Ryan King Electric Company will install the lighting after they finish laying the pipe, which is in progress in this photo.
Public Service Announcement – Fluorescent lights contain mercury. During demo we had to be extra careful about their removal and proper disposal.
Many of us have CFLs – compact fluorescent lights – in our lamps at home. When they burn out, where do you recycle them? I take them to my local Lowe’s, where they have a recycling bin right inside the entrance. It’s an easy drop-n-run.
To find a recycling location near you, the EPA recommends you check search.Earth911.com. A quick search near our zip code says The Home Depot, Batteries Plus, and Durham County Recycling Centers also accept fluorescent bulbs.
