What can gardening teach you? Coming from a family of farmers, I’d have to say, “Waste not, want not.” After all, when you witness firsthand what it takes to grow your own food, no one has to tell you to value it.
Luckily there are organizations like SEEDS that continue to teach “respect for life, for the earth and for each other through gardening and growing food.” Located in Downtown Durham, their after school programs, summer camps, and teaching kitchen are so successful they’re drawing inner-city kids back year after year.
Learn how their community-building programs are changing lives in this compelling video, SEEDS: The Documentary, product of the 2015 summer session of the School of Doc.
It’ll make you want to learn more about SEEDS and becoming involved… So to save you the trouble, here’s a link to SEEDS’ website. (You’re welcome)
