A show of hands, who remembers that Colgate Whitening toothpaste commercial from the ’90s where the teacher asks kindergarten students “What color are my teeth?” …and they respond, “Beige! Off-white! Stucco! Ecru! Mother of Pearl!”
Okay, you can put your hands down now. (I know I’ll have to if I want to timely finish this blog post…)
Well, that scene played in my mind as I took this picture and asked our project manager, “What color is that?” – referring to the paint that covers 99% of the building and not the bright green door.
She raised her hands questioningly, shook her head, and struggled to find the specific color name that’s basically “off-white.” What she was sure of was its code: Sherwin Williams historical color SW 0050.
For us lay people that’s “Classic Light Buff” that speedy Gonzalez Painters wrapped our food hub in. As for the accent door, let’s call it “green” and call it a day!
